Starting The Sims 4 #2 (Home)

How to set up your game after creating your sim

(check out the previous post!)

The next step is to choose a home that’s highlighted in green, you can afford those. I suggest starting with a small home in the beginning. (just click on the home)

Hit ‘ furnished’. If you don’t have more than 3,000 in funds left, I suggest getting your sim a job. Otherwise, you won’t be able to pay bills AND feed you sim. Click on the briefcase in the bottom right corner, ‘join a career’.  I chose the ‘painter’ career because my sim has the ‘Painter Extraordinaire’  aspiration. He wants to paint.

I have 6,337 left. If you have all the necessities, both for your job (I need an easel, found in hobbies & skills)

Necessities: Bathroom (shower, sink, toilet)

Kitchen (Fridge, counter, stove, trashcan, sink)

Bedroom (bed, room for skill building objects, such as an easel)

Outdoor trash can

BONUS: There is a trashcan that is $1200, it gives you money when you use it. You don’t need any other trashcan if you use this one.

You can also get a home from the gallery. (my hashtag is #908 (when searching for a home, you can look it up in the search bar, click on the other options, hashtag and then just type 908, you can find my at Safe Simmer too. I have several starter homes already.

Current Rags to Riches (#1)

The Sims 4 (my) Rags To Riches ‘Legacy’

Victoria Slater, the sim in the picture above, is a very unoriginal sim. I used a preset for her face and her body.

Her Backstory:

Victoria woke up one morning, with her oven on fire. It destroyed everything. She had no family, so where is she to go? The only ‘backup funds’ she had was $1500. So she moved to Windenburg, bought a small plot of land, and is now fishing and collecting her way to fame!

The Rules

Create a new sim, young adult in create a sim, move them to a small lot shift+ctrl+c  , money 0

, and start a job, and/or fish, collect until you have the funds to start a hobby that makes more money (writing, painting, woodworking, gardening, etc.)

A Little Story

This is Victoria & Darick

They met by her adopting her first dog. She had many more dogs after that!

Starting The Sims 4 #1 (CAS)

Recently got The Sims 4?

The first thing you do when you load the sims, you hit ‘new game’. That’ll take you to create a sim (CAS)

Once in CAS, hit the little grey pumlbob (the Diamond) a lot of options show up. you can choose the sim’s gender, age(if you make one sim, they must be a teen sim or older), walk style, voice, & and a couple more options in the ‘…’.

Next, you can choose the traits for your sim. What do you want your sim to be? You can choose their first & last name. (you can do this later, or randomize!)

You can dress them, and choose their weight, and muscle mass first, (you can also re-shape their bodies), you can reshape their face, choose skin color eye, hair color, and makeup!

Suggestions for beginners:

Easy Traits: Cheerful, creative, foodie, ambitious, neat, good, goofball, art lover, music lover

Difficult Traits: Lazy, slob, mean, perfectionist, active, gloomy, geek, childish

Just don’t until later traits: Evil, jealous, romantic, noncommital, Hot-Headed, Insane, Kleptomaniac

After the traits, you need to choose an aspiration. If you want them to complete it easily, I suggest choosing traits that would help.

For beginners:  (In order of difficulty)

Creativity: Painter Extraordinaire Good Traits: Creative, Cheerful, Perfectionist. (Art lover, ambitious is you want the painter career, materialistic)

Food: Master Chef

Nature: Freelance Botanist

If you haven’t already,  You need to choose their first & last name to continue (the game won’t let you otherwise) Then click on the checkmark in the bottom right corner, and save & play!

Introducing The Richards Family

^Sporting Space on gallery

One of my oldest current families is the Richards. Melony Richards (married name), the founder, and Gavin Richards (from oasis springs, base game)

They can be found here (Sporting Space is where Kobe’s child lives now)

               How this family came about:

I know that I had gotten ‘Outdoor retreat’ Game Pack recently. And that my dad had to switch computers, The Sims on the last one. I lost all my saves. Not a big loss, because my mom told me she knew I wouldn’t be too upset because I can start all over again! And she was very right because one of the saves I made was the Richards family. A couple of the many reasons I have played this save for much longer than others:

They had a lot of kids

        It’s a Challenge

About this Family

Other than being a large family, they have a little story. Melony Richards moved from somewhere, to Oasis Springs. She had $0 (simoleons) with her, after moving into a lot. Having so many kids helped me ‘focus’, in a way. I could focus on family gameplay. After I had enough money, it was too easy to play. So, I just had a lot of kids.

How many kids?

Eight. (Gavin I had Gavin II with Zoe Patel. ) Two are adopted, Kobe and Kara. Kobe was adopted as a ‘teen’ (I aged him up after his adoption.) Gavin II (Jr.) Was in the family before Kobe, and Isis was born because I wanted a genetic child from them. (I was curious to see the looks)

Order of kids:
Gavin II, Kobe, Isis, Jason, Kara, Richard, Zachary, and Zeek. They had five boys Kobe, Jason, Richard, and Zachary) and three girls (Isis, Kara, and Zeek)

The three youngest I haven’t paid a lot of attention to. I moved to the second generation before the youngest was a young adult.

The ‘Challenge’

Rags to Riches is what I call it. But, that’s something different. I simply moved Melony into a lot, turned cheats on, then ‘money 0’. I did use a bit of cheats.

The four in the background are the four youngest of Melony and Gavin I.

Legacy Challenge (The sims 4) #1

I wanted to start something new today, so why not start the legacy challenge?

(The original rules here)

Starting out:

Create a sim, of any gender.(Teen or young adult is fine)  If you have any stuff packs, game packs, or expansion packs, you can’t use them. That is rule one. No clothing, hairs, jewelry, or ‘other’. Make the sim look a little ‘homeless’, it’s hard to the base game. One styled look is okay, any more is cheating.

My sim’s name is Anna Smith. She is kid #0. of 10 generations.

So, I randomized her first. I got the desired sim, edited her, gave her new clothes, current look:

EveryDay   Formal   Party

Next, choose a world. Any world will do.(I chose oasis spring)  Once in game, hit shift+ctrl+c , the cheat console will pop up (The white box in the left corner) type testingcheats on

Then type ‘money 5000’. What was the lot’s price? You are now in debt by the lot’s original price and 5000 simoleons. Spend it wisely!  ANy lifespan is okay (to change it, go to the … in the right corner, click ‘game options’, ‘gameplay’ and change whatever you want. I suggest playing on the ‘short lifespan.’  And aging on for other sims you’re not playing.
